Service and Repair - Instrumentation Equipment, monitoring & Control Systems
We able to undertake component level diagnostics and repairs to electronic instrumentation and control systems. Having a formal design background, we are often able to repair “obsolete” or “unfixable” devices or instruments, and where required can even design and supply custom made replacement mechanical parts, replacement boards or modules in place of obsolete boards or modules – saving companies the massive expense of replacing an entire machine or updating a production line.

Magnograph Repairs
We have undertaken Magnograph repairs for a number of Australian based clients. All work undertaken is in accordance with the original Canadian designer and manufacturer.
All work undertaken will be presented with images of each task, and where applicable documentation for work quality assurance.
Magnograph Damaged Bulkhead Socket Replacement
This damage is common – the bulkhead socket tends to get accidentally sheered / damaged during use. This is a skilled job to undertake that requires extreme care and attention to detail. The wires are internal, short (no slack) and potted inside silicon rubber. If the old bulkhead socket (or wires) are pulled, there is an extremely high risk of internal internal damage, not accessible without a complete rebuild. Instead the wires have to be carefully spliced and clad in heat-shrink.
Although hard to see in the images below, the splice joins are deep inside a small 20mm diameter hole, and only accessible when the silicon potting is carefully removed locally.
This is undertaken using a set of custom tools we have developed in-house. Following this repair, all is clad in conformal coating prior to re application of neutral cure silicon. All wire types, colours and conventions are maintained in strict accordance with the original manufacture’s convention.
Following this repair, the full functionality is tested in accordance with the manufacture’s strict requirements.
Magnograph Equipment Lead Refurbishment & Fabrication
We are able to either refurbish or fabricate replacement Magnograph equipment cables (Mag I and Mag II). The images below illustrate the standard of work and the attention to detail. This will provide the highest reliability, and longest possible service life.
